Promotion risk checker · the same read Bavior runs before it drafts
Bavior returns a 0-100 removal-risk score and a low, medium, or high band. It also lists the signals behind that score. The check is read-only. Nothing gets posted. It's free with every account.
What a promotion risk score measures

A promotion risk score answers one question. How likely is this post to be removed for reading like an ad? It weighs the same signals mods and AutoMod check. How salesy the wording is. How new or low-karma the account looks. Whether the subreddit allows that kind of post at all. It's a warning light, not a promise. A low score lowers your odds. It doesn't remove them.

Sample output

A removal-risk score, before you post.

Three states, one glance. Green reads fine. Orange means check the rules. Red reads like an ad.

Low✅ Low risk (12/100)
Reads like a real post. Fine to post as is.
Medium⚠️ Medium risk (54/100)
Some self-promo signals. Check the sub's rules first.
High❌ High risk (89/100)
Reads like an ad. Likely to be removed or filtered.
Why posts get removed

The patterns that trigger a takedown.

01

Too much self-promo

Bare links and pitch language read like an ad. Mods and AutoMod both catch it.

02

New or low-karma account

Mods filter first posts from thin accounts. Nobody reads the content.

03

Wrong subreddit for the format

A promo post in a discussion-only sub gets pulled fast. Good writing won't save it.

04

Rules ignored

A missed flair, title format, or self-promo day is an easy AutoMod removal.

How it works

Three steps, from a draft to a score.

1

Your post, or a subreddit

The text you're about to post. Or the sub you're posting to.

2

We scan for removal patterns

Self-promo ratio. Account signals. The subreddit's own rules.

3

You get a score and reasons

Low, medium, or high risk. Plus the reasons behind it.

How to read it

How much self-promotion is actually too much on Reddit?

Reddit has an unwritten rule of thumb. Roughly one promo post for every nine that aren't. It isn't Reddit policy. Plenty of subreddits ignore it. But a lot of mods still use something like it as a mental check. The part people miss is the scope. Mods judge that ratio across your whole account history, not just this one post. So a brand-new account whose only activity is one link already fails it. How well that post is written won't change the answer. And mods are people. One can still pull a low-risk post because a rule changed last week, or because that is the call they make today.

01

The 90/10 rule of thumb

Roughly one promo post for every nine that aren't. An unwritten norm, not Reddit policy.

02

It's account-wide, not per-post

Mods often read your whole history. One good post won't undo a promo-only pattern.

03

Some subreddits ban all links

A few communities remove any commercial link. Ratio and wording don't matter there.

One thing the score won't tell you

The score reads risk. It doesn't read quality. A post can come back at 8/100 and still be dull. Nothing here judges whether your topic is interesting, whether the title earns a click, or whether the timing is right. Those are the things that decide if a safe post is also a post worth making. The subreddit is the only judge of that.

Once you know the risk

A score only tells you what's already wrong.

Bavior reads a subreddit's rules before it writes a word. Then it drafts a story-first post that fits that community. Removal risk stays low by design, not by luck. From $99/mo billed monthly, or $79.17/mo billed yearly.
