Bavior returns one of three statuses: clear, possible, or shadowbanned. It reads whether your posts and comments show publicly. The check is read-only. It's free with every account.
What a shadowban actually is

A shadowban is a quiet, site-wide restriction Reddit puts on an account it flags as spammy. You can still post and comment. From your own login everything looks normal. Other people never see it. A shadowban checker works around that blind spot. It looks at your profile the way a stranger would, logged out, and reports whether your content shows up.

What the result means

Three states — and what each one tells you.

The status color is the whole answer. Green means others can see your content. Orange means some signals look off, not a confirmed diagnosis. Red means your posts aren't showing publicly.

Clear✅ Not shadowbanned
Your content is visible to others.
Possible⚠️ Possible shadowban
Some signals suggest reduced visibility.
Shadowbanned❌ Shadowbanned
Your posts aren't showing publicly.
Why accounts get shadowbanned

Reddit reads the account as spammy — quietly.

Reddit shadowbans accounts it reads as spammy. Too much self-promo. New accounts posting links. Vote manipulation. Automation patterns. You keep posting, and nobody sees it. The trigger is rarely one bad post. It's usually a pattern. The same link dropped across many subreddits in a short time. A brand-new account whose first move is a link instead of a comment. Several accounts posting near-identical content from what looks like one source. None of that has to be intentional to get flagged. It's just the shape Reddit's spam filters are built to catch.

How it works

Three steps, from a username to a status.

1

Enter a username

Your Reddit handle. The public one. Nothing else to set up.

2

We check visibility

We look at whether your posts and comments show up to other people. Only public signals are visible to us.

3

You get a status

Green, orange, or red. A clear read on whether you're shadowbanned.

How to read it

What's the difference between a shadowban, a suspension, and a subreddit ban?

People use these words interchangeably, but they're three different things. The fix for each is different too. Mixing them up is the most common reason someone thinks they're shadowbanned. Often they're only banned from one community, or the other way around.

01

Shadowban

Site-wide and silent. You can still log in and post; almost nobody else can see it.

02

Account suspension

Site-wide and visible. Reddit tells you directly, and you usually can't log in at all.

03

Subreddit ban

Local, not silent. You're blocked from one community, but your account works fine elsewhere.

A quick way to tell them apart. If you can still log in and post, it isn't a suspension. If your posts vanish from one subreddit but show fine everywhere else, that's a subreddit ban. And a clear result today only describes today. Change your posting pattern and the answer can change.

One thing this check can't do

It reads a status. It can't change one. Lifting a shadowban is Reddit's call, and an appeal goes to Reddit, not to us. We can't speed that up or sway the outcome. It also sees only what's public. Reddit's internal spam score and a mod's private note stay hidden from everyone outside Reddit.

Once you know your status

A check tells you the damage is already done.

Bavior is built to avoid triggering a shadowban in the first place. It reads each community's rules first. It respects quotas and cooldowns. It watches for shadowban signals, and it never manipulates votes. On a plan you publish from your own account, and Bavior holds to that account's quotas and cooldowns so the pattern never looks automated. Managed posting from Bavior's own vetted accounts is a paid add-on, priced separately. From $99/mo billed monthly, or $79.17/mo billed yearly.
